About Us
Respite in Anna’s Homes
While Anna was in treatment at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital in Spokane, Washington, we met many families from the surrounding region. Some families lived nearby, but others lived up to five or six hours from the hospital. Treatment for childhood cancer can range anywhere from a few months to several years. Thus, the dream of creating individual family homes designed specifically for the needs of pediatric oncology families was formed. In spring 2017 we broke ground to construct Anna’s Homes. In November 2018 we finished Phase I of Anna’s Homes, the first set (2) of townhomes.
Anna’s Homes have since been housing out-of-town families fighting childhood cancer at Sacred Heart Children’s Hospital in Spokane, WA. During intensive parts of treatments, the sick child must stay within an hour of the hospital, requiring families living in outlying areas to find housing for weeks to months during this period. Anna’s Homes provide an inexpensive, safe, individual-family living option that is not otherwise found in the area.
What We Provide

Families often face income loss, relocation, and isolation, all while caring for a child in treatment. Hotels are expensive, and options like Ronald McDonald House aren’t always available or suitable.
Anna’s Homes bridge this critical gap – offering stability, dignity, and an opportunity to care for each other amid crisis by providing things like:

Private living: kitchen, bedrooms, laundry, and common areas designed to fit wheelchairs, siblings, and special needs
